Steven H. Swerdlow, M.D.
Dr. Steven Swerdlow is Professor of Pathology, Director Division of Hematopathology, University of Pittsburg School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Brandeis University and Harvard Medical School. He is recognized internationally for his clinical, research and educational activities, as an academic hematopathologist specializing in use of multi-parameter approach to better understand lymphoid proliferations. In addition to numerous original publications and book chapters, he is the lead editor for the 2008 and 2017 WHO monographs on the classification of hematopoietic and lymphoid tumors. He is an active contributor on the executive committees for major pathology, hematopathology organizations including as former President of the Society for Hematopathology. Currently he is President of the American Board of Pathology Board of Trustees. He received the inaugural “Berard-Dorfman Founders Award” for a senior Hematopathologist from the Society for Hematopathology in 2015 and the Harvey Goldman Master Teacher of the Year award from the USCAP in 2017.
